Ellie Goulding left everyone “Starry Eyed” with her new hair color at the 2022 Royal Variety Performance on Dec. 1. Since bursting onto the music scene in 2010, the singer has maintained her signature blonde look, only subtly switching it up over the years. She’s tried out “cashmere blonde,” a white-ash color, “butterscotch blonde,” and even rose gold, but she has now officially gone to the dark side and debuted a brown hair color ahead of the holidays.
Goulding attended the event at the Royal Albert Hall with her new brunette hair kept sleek and shiny. Anastasia Stylianou, Goulding’s hairstylist, posted photos of the singer on Instagram with the caption, “The brunette you never knew you needed.” She used Redken products to dye her hair and styled it into a straight look with a middle part using Kerastase products and Dyson hair tools.
It wasn’t just her new hair transformation that stood out; Goulding debuted her new color in a chic black cutout Michael Kors dress. Styled by Nathan Klein, the asymmetric gown came complete with a thigh-high slit and a cutout section at the torso. Teamed with platform ankle-strap heels, she was the height of sophistication. Makeup artist Francesca Angelina Brazzo added black eyeliner and a sweep or orange-hued YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Bold Lipstick to complete the look.
