Dr Jart+ Ceramidin Cream Review For Dry, Irritated, Rosacea-Prone Skin

While the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream isn’t marketed as an all-in-one product, I certainly consider it one. It has become a reliable makeup primer for when I want my foundation to last all day, a thirst-quenching mask for when my skin is parched, a cure for my extra-dry, flaking hands, a daytime under-eye balm, and a soothing night cream. The only products it hasn’t replaced in my lineup are my cleanser, prescription azelaic acid, and SPF.

At first glance, I didn’t think much about the yellow tube, but when I saw it on TikTok, I knew I had to try it. It’s been my go-to ever since, especially on nights my rosacea is triggered. Ahead, my full review.

Dr Jart+ Ceramidin Cream: An Overview

The Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream is a daily moisturizer that the brand says can help “lock in moisture, strengthen skin’s moisture barrier, and prevent water loss.” Its beauty is in how uncomplicated it is. Dr. Jart+ formulated this product so that it’s thick enough to work on dry skin, but not too greasy (which can ultimately turn those with oily and combination skin off from using it). It doesn’t contain potentially irritating or comedogenic ingredients (so no clogged pores here). It simply fits into the routines of most — if not all — skin types.

Reviewed by Cosmetic Chemist Ginger King

The Ceramidin Cream contains ceramides (unsurprisingly), hyaluronic acid, and shea butter, which make it perfect for dry skin like mine, says cosmetic chemist Ginger King. “Ceramides help strengthen the skin barrier, hyaluronic acid provides long-lasting moisture, and shea butter gives immediate nourishing benefits,” she says. “This is a fantastic system to guard against dry skin.”

King goes on to explain that the cream also contains peptides and polymers to help protect from moisture loss and beta glucan and probiotic-fermented ingredients to “provide soothing and skin balancing benefits.”
