Yara Shahidi is clearly on a quest to provide us with as much hair inspiration as possible, and she’s succeeding. On Feb. 22, the actor shared a photo to her Instagram Stories from the set of “Grown-ish” wearing a jumbo-faux locs hairstyle that you’re going to want to recreate immediately.
For a slightly more relaxed feel, her baby hairs were left natural, curling around her hairline. The locs were pulled into a high ponytail and secured using a gold hair clip. Shahidi finished the look with sparkly graphic eyeliner, a french manicure, and a matching sweatsuit.
Faux locs are an incredible protective style that allow you to wear the look without having to permanently loc your hair. There are also different iterations you can try — like butterfly and goddess — and numerous ways to wear them, including bobs, buns, ponytails, and more. Shahidi’s version of the hairstyle is the perfect way to take the look from work to play, as it has the versatility in styling that locs are known for with the jumbo size, which gives her a more laid-back vibe.
