When it comes to beauty looks at Fashion Week, you never know what to expect. Some designers send models down the runways without a lick of makeup, while others pair their clothes with neon eyeliner. This season, Prada made supermodel Gigi Hadid‘s eyelashes practically disappear.
But don’t worry — the model didn’t get rid of her lashes entirely. Hadid walked in the Italian fashion house’s fall/winter 2023 show during Milan Fashion Week on February 23 wearing a gray coat and gray skirt bedecked in white floral appliques, her blonde hair parted in the middle and styled straight. The model wore minimal makeup, just a pair of super pale baby pink false lashes that, from a distance, made it look like she had no lashes at all. Up close, however, you can see the pastel hue of the falsies. Other models wore snow white and icy baby blue lashes for a similar effect, adding a hint of whimsy to the minimal, occasionally austere clothing.

Lashes often play a role in Prada’s runway beauty. For its Spring/Summer 2023 show, it went full haunted doll with super long, spidery lashes that completely covered the models’ eyes, giving each look a macabre edge.
Hadid, too, never shies away from a beauty risk. She’s bleached her brows in the name of fashion, dyed her hair from honey blonde to red to platinum blonde, and so much more. (That constant transformation is all part of being a model, of course.) For the CFDA Fashion Awards in November 2022, Hadid and her glam team skipped the classic red lipstick in favor of a grungy gray and it totally worked, especially when paired with a sleek bun, lots of lashes, a septum ring, and a plaid Thom Browne ‘fit. The supermodel and Next in Fashion host probably won’t be saying goodbye to her lashes anytime soon, but the invisible-esque lash is a fabulous look for her nonetheless.
