For as long as we can remember, Katie Holmes has always been a no-makeup makeup kinda gal. An absolute stunner without even a stitch of foundation, she rarely goes very bold with color or intensity, if anything, playing up her big hazel eyes with smoky liner and lots of mascara. But a red lip is a rarity on the actor.
Two days ago, we would’ve said we couldn’t remember the last time Holmes wore vibrant lipstick; today, however, we can report that she broke from her normal neutral, mauve-y lip looks just yesterday to wear a devastatingly gorgeous shade of bright red on her lips.
Holmes posted a photo of herself with Michael Fitzgerald, the production designer for the new film she directed and stars in, Rare Objects. On Monday, they attended a screening of the film, and Holmes wore a black and red ensemble. The latter color clearly influenced makeup artist Genevieve Herr, who gave Holmes an elegant look with a truly show-stopping shade of a red lipstick.
